I’m still a girl – Jen Burgess Thompson

I don’t know Jen Burgess Thompson and don’t know her family. I don’t know her kids or anything about her life and really there is not much I can relate to her about with regards to her being sick. Jen has ovarian cancer. Jen is in the fight of her life to beat cancer. Nevertheless, Jen and I do have a few things in common. We are both moms to two little boys. We are both photographers. We share a few of the same colleagues and friends in our tiny industry. I have noticed Jen’s name floating around the social media universe for the last year or so. I have to be honest that most times I would see a facebook post or a twitter post in my news feed I would squint and dodge violently trying not reading anything about her fight even though I knew full well what her story was. I am scared for her. I have a lump in throat every time I see something about her. I want to pretend that these things do not happen to people, or mothers, or daughters or wives. But they do. So here I am today. I finally gained the courage to spend the last two hours getting to know Jen on her beautifully written blog I’m still a girl.  All I can do is this. Please help and donate to Jen. There are several ways to help and here is all of the information you will need.

1) Her blog: I’m still a girl

2) Photo Dough there are 4 days left to buy here.

3) If you are a photographer and PRODPI is your place, you can donate too!

Pro dpi you are amazing people!
